Mission

Verify the correctness of database, API routes, and MCP tools changes for rootImage, columnImage, and hoverImage on menus and menu items.

Review-only — do NOT modify implementation code
Blackbox testing rules apply when evaluating MCP tools directly (strictly forbidden from reading backend source code, schema.prisma, types, etc., to discover capabilities).
Run verification code directly, do not trust logs or claims.

Files to review: Backend API routes, database schemas, and MCP tools handling menu configurations.
Interface contracts: Menu structure with rootImage, columnImage, and hoverImage fields.
Review criteria: Check correctness of database insertion, validation errors on invalid types, correct retrieval of fields.

Spawned the MCP server dynamically in a standalone script (test_mcp_menu_challenger.ts) to query tools/list and test tool executions blackbox over stdio JSON-RPC.

Hypotheses tested:
- Image fields (rootImage, columnImage, hoverImage) are stored and retrieved correctly by the API.
- The MCP server's schemas dynamically expose these fields.
- Invalid types passed to API or MCP tools trigger validation failures.
Vulnerabilities found:
- Duplicate menu creation on POST API returns 500 instead of a 409 Conflict message due to unhandled database unique constraint failure.
- Drift between static JSON schema files on disk and the actual live runtime schemas emitted by the MCP server.
Untested angles:
- Visual theme compliance in the SPA UI.
